Ongoing Cases

France’s Data Retention Law and the 2015 Intelligence Act

This legal challenge aims to uphold the case law of the Court of Justice of the EU on bulk data retention and real-time analysis in France. Read more

📕 Closed Cases

France’s wireless communications surveillance loophole

This case at the French Constitutional Council put an end to the loophole which, since 1991, had been exempting all wireless communications surveillance of legal safeguards. Data Rights members contributed to the legal challenge. Read more

Privacy International’s state hacking case

Data Rights and French Data Network were granted the right to intervene at the ECtHR in support of Privacy International and five Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Read more

Real-time interception of data during France’s state of emergency

The Constitutional Council declared provisions of the French Emergency Act unconstitutional. Data Rights members participated in the case. Read more
